Imam Sadiq (as) asked one of his companions: “Do you (Ahl-al-bayt followers) sit together and speak about us?

The companion replied: “Yes, my master!”

Imam Sadiq (as) said:“I love your gatherings. Keep our affairs alive. May Allah have mercy on those who keep our affairs alive.”

Wasā’il al-Shīʿa.

Every year millions of people from differing backgrounds journey to Karbala, Iraq to visit the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s) on the day of Arbaeen. As the wolrd’s largest annual gathering, the Arbaeen pilgrimage serves several unique and unsurpassed remarkable functions, one of them being the platform it affords for the honourable visitors of Imam Hussain (a.s) to connect with scholars from the Islamic Seminary of the Holy City of Najaf (hawza).

In consideration of this, The Islamic Seminary of The Holy City of Najaf has launched an initiative to organise meetings between scholars and visiting groups during the Arbaeen to facilitate and promote constructive dialogue about important issues relating to the contemporary affairs of Shia Muslim communities worldwide.

If you are interested in participating in this initiative, please contact us by completing this form.

Please note: The Mainstay Foundation is collaborating with The Islamic Seminary of the Holy City of Najaf to spread awareness about this initiative amongst Islamic Centres and Organisations and connecting those interested to those organising the this project.

The scope of this project is limited to organising and facilitating meetings with scholars. It does not include logistical support with providing food, lodging, or any other service.
